Liverpool withdraw from the race to sign Mark Jehi

Sky Sports reported that Newcastle United are considering a new bid for Crystal Palace captain Mark Gueye during the current summer transfer window.

The Times reported that Newcastle are considering resuming negotiations to sign the English defender, amid the club’s continued interest in strengthening their defensive line.

The Mirror, however, revealed that Liverpool have decided to withdraw from the race to sign Gueye after Crystal Palace rejected two previous bids from the Reds, and the club has no intention of making a third.

The Times added that Liverpool have begun exploring alternative defensive options, including 18-year-old Parma defender Giovanni Leone.
